About Key West Bully Net Charters

A Purpose-Built Bully Netting Platform

Our primary charter boat is a classic 17’ Boston Whaler hull that has been highly customized specifically for Florida Keys bully netting. The hull itself is stable, dry and features Whaler’s unsinkable foam sandwich construction. It is powered by a quiet, fuel-efficient and smoke-free Mercury four-stroke outboard.

For bully netting, we’ve added an expansive forward deck flush with the gunwales and moved the console to the bow so the captain can see almost directly down into the water while driving. Three powerful Swamp Eye submersible lights from Outrigger Outdoors help us find the lobsters.

The cockpit area is open for lobster boxes, nets and passenger seating in comfortable marine beanbags.

Capt. Chris Simmons

Brought up in the heart of South Florida, my upbringing was surrounded by the fishing culture. With my father and brother deeply engrossed in fishing, it wasn’t long before I eagerly embraced the pursuit. Fishing became an integral part of my life from an early age, a passion that was ingrained in me.

My journey began with casting lines for largemouth and peacock bass, which were plentiful in the area. Progressing steadily, I ventured into the realms of inshore and offshore fishing. Armed with my father’s trusty 15′ skiff, I navigated these waters, and soon upgraded to a more substantial 20’ center console.

Even as a young child, I found myself reeling in catches that ranged from dolphin and mackerel to snook. This early exposure to the diverse marine life of the region left an indelible mark on me.
